Kitchener Scissor Lift Operator Certification - North American regulators recommend that worksites require operators of scissor lifts, booms or aerial work platforms to obtain certification training. Scissor lift operator certification is not mandatory, but there are benefits to ensuring that this particular training is provided to all the operators.

Scissor lift is a platform that vertically moves in order to allow workers to reach high levels. Scissor lifts are made together with a pantograph - linked, folding supports in an 'X' pattern. Upward movement happens when pressure is applied to the outside of the lowest set of supports, propelling the work platform vertically by lengthening the 'X' pattern. A bridge extends from particular platforms in order to allow convenient access to the work area.

The platform returns to the ground by release of a manual valve. The platform descends through simple release of hydraulic or pneumatic pressure. This is the main reason that scissor lifts are the machine of choice at worksites.

Both new and experienced operators could benefit from proper scissor lift training. This particular program can be tailored to focus specially on the particular equipment models at your workplace. The trainees' certificate of training would list the models on which they trained.

The classroom instruction includes the following subject matters: introduction to scissor lift training; authorization, attitude and rules and guidelines; Occupational Health safety; safety rules and common hazards; workbook and record of training (ROT)

The in-class session would conclude with a written test.

The following areas practical hands-on training and instruction covers: safety equipment; pre-operational check; operator guidebook; regular maintenance; function test checklist; and the practical session would end with a demonstration of proficiency.
