Kitchener Order Picker License - Order picking is otherwise referred to as order preparation operation. This is among the chief processes in a warehouse and consists of people called order pickers, taking and collecting articles in a particular quantity prior to shipment so as to complete client orders. Order picking is a basic warehousing process. The effectiveness in which this particular task is accomplished could be directly connected to the productivity of a supply chain. Therefore, order picking is amongst the most controlled logistic processes. Order picking falls in the category of the warehouse management system.

There are specific types of order picking which comprise: wave picking method, pick to box method, piece picking or picker to part method, zone picking method and sorting systems method.

The pick to box method consists of the order picker just filling the boxes with item which are from their specific station. The box then moves on to other stations to until the order is finish. In this process, there is no movement of the order picker staff. In the wave picking method, the order pickers move all-around to be able to gather the needed items for numerous orders. The piece picking or picker to part method is similar where the order pickers or picker move so as to gather the stuff needed but for one order only.

There is no movement by the order picker in the sorting systems method. Rather, products are delivered to the orderpicker by an automatic system like for instance a conveyor system or an automatic storage system. In the zone picking method, each order picker is assigned to one specific zone. They are responsible for only realizing order picking in this specific area.
